Not a filter, a redraw
A cartoon effect in CapCut or Canva paints over each frame, so you get the same video with outlines and flat colours. That is quick, and it keeps every flicker and shaky hand of the original.
Motion2D does something different. It works out who is in the shot and how they move, then animates clean cartoon characters doing that, in a drawn background. It smooths the movement like a director would, instead of copying every jitter.

Good clips to start with
Clear shots with people facing roughly towards the camera work best: interviews, talking heads, podcasts filmed on camera, presentations and short sketches. Very dark footage, heavy crowds and fast sports are harder.
Want the person to look like someone specific? Describe them in the notes, for example woman with short grey hair and a green jacket.

How do I turn a video into a cartoon?

Is this the same as a cartoon effect?
No. Effects stylise each frame. Motion2D redraws the people as animated characters, which looks like an actual cartoon rather than a filtered video.
Can I use someone else's video?
Only if you have the rights to it and permission from the people in it. You confirm this before each upload.
